Punjab to Launch New Payment System for Imams

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the rollout of honorarium payments for mosque imams across the province starting January 1. The decision was made during a high-level meeting she chaired on Tuesday.

The meeting formally approved the Chief Minister Imam Masjid Honorarium Card, which will serve as the official mechanism for payments.

The government has set February 2026 as the deadline for the complete issuance of the cards. Initially, payments will be made through pay orders, while honorarium cards will become fully operational from February 1.
