Solar Panels Prices in Pakistan Drop Sharply

Solar system prices in Pakistan have recorded a sharp decline, giving consumers a rare opportunity to install clean and affordable energy solutions ahead of the summer season.

With the arrival of winter, the country’s power consumption has decreased, leading to a significant reduction in the cost of solar panels. This fall in prices is expected to benefit households planning to shift to solar energy before the next wave of high electricity bills.

Market reports confirm that prices of 5kW to 15kW solar systems have dropped by as much as Rs. 150,000. The new rate for a 5kW system now stands at Rs. 550,000, including panels, an inverter, and essential accessories.

A 7kW system is now available for Rs. 625,000, effective December 2025. This setup is capable of running two 1.5-ton inverter air conditioners, a refrigerator, fans, lights, and a washing machine.

Similarly, the price of a 10kW system has fallen to Rs. 900,000, while a 15kW system is now priced at Rs. 1.3 million.

These larger systems are suitable for spacious homes and small commercial units, offering the ability to run multiple air conditioners, refrigerators and other heavy appliances simultaneously.

The reduction comes shortly after President Asif Ali Zardari temporarily suspended the 16% General Sales Tax (GST) on solar consumers and directed the Federal Tax Ombudsman to conduct a review of the matter.

Industry experts say the combination of lower prices and tax relief has created the best buying moment for consumers considering solar installation.
