A woman sanitation worker in Faisalabad set a rare example of honesty when she returned Rs. 900,000 found in garbage to its rightful owner, reported 24News channel on Thursday.
The incident, which quickly became the talk of the city, highlighted the integrity shown by sanitation worker Nusrat Bibi, who chose transparency over temptation.
Acting on the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir and the CEO of the consortium presented her with a cash reward of Rs. 300,000 along with a commendation shield.
The district administration also announced a job for her son, recognising her remarkable honesty.
Social media users praised Nusrat Bibi’s gesture, calling it a reminder that dignity and integrity still exist in everyday life.
