The Islamabad Transport Authority (ITA) has extended the deadline for vehicle emission testing and M-Tag installation by one week, 24NewsHD reported Saturday.
Inter-city, inter-district, and inter-provincial transport operators have been given a seven-day ultimatum to comply.
Authorities warned that failure to complete emission testing and M-Tag installation within the deadline will result in cancellation of the bus stand’s NOC.
The ITA has issued orders to all bus terminals to submit inspection and M-Tag reports daily. Officials stressed that strict legal action will be taken against any violations.

M-Tag and Emissions Certificate are a big joke with the public. The government is bent upon torturing the people one way or the other by keeping them in the long queues for hours so that their attention to the everyday real issues is diverted.

Stop the farmers from burning their fields which can be seen from the motorway! Start running buses from street to street and take the traffic off the roads that way. Start thinking about the traffic problems in the west most especially, in London where you have seen buses and underground trains running close to people’s houses. Learn from what is happening around in the world rather than just building roads and constructing overpasses and under passes and talking about bullet trains when the railway lines are those that have been laid by the British. Test isn’t being conducted for modern cars , only for old cars
This test is not for new cars . Only cars which are older than 2022 have to go through this test
What about older cars and busses which omit a lot of smoke. If you have any knowledge then you must know that they are not testing cars above 2022 before and now 2017 models. But before that they should be tested and get certificate.
Cars post 2015 do not emit high emission bcz of their tech being Farely new.
Unless you’ve been using your car upto 300000 km there is no possible way to get high emissions

What is different between MTag and Number plate. A number plate also inform the authorities about the owner of vehicle.
Best is to bound people to engrave number plate and owner name or some code on front and rear wind shield so as no fake number plate can be used.
There are thousands of vehicles, rickshaw, bikes plying without number plates, first ensure strict compliance to same.
People can easily copy so called MTag system. Guaranteed. Same with VET.
