The Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue reviewed dress code complaints in commercial banks after Senator Zarqa Suharwardy Taimur raised concerns about alleged abaya requirements for female staff.
Bank representatives denied imposing any such rule, saying only modest, professional attire is expected.
Senator Talha Mahmood suggested aligning dress guidelines with principles in Surah An-Nur and Surah Al-Ahzab.
The Committee also commended the Pakistan Single Window initiative for enabling traders and investors to access more than 23 government services through a single digital platform and requested a detailed presentation for the next session.
