Residents of the Golra Police Station’s suburban area near Chora Stop on Wednesday reportedly thrashed seven Chinese nationals who allegedly attempted to lure young nomadic girls with money and tried to forcibly take them away.

According to Tribune, locals managed to catch three of the men, while four others escaped.

According to police, Muhammad Khan, a resident of the nomadic settlement, filed a complaint stating that he and his family live in makeshift huts near the stop.

He claimed that the same group of Chinese nationals had been entering their area repeatedly, harassing women and girls, offering them money, filming videos, and trying to take them away.

He added that in the latest incident, the same group of seven Chinese nationals allegedly repeated this behaviour. When his grandson, Sikandar, attempted to stop them, the Chinese men allegedly began fighting and assaulting him.

This led other nomadic residents to intervene, using force to stop the men and protect the women present. Four of the Chinese nationals fled the scene, while three were detained and handed over to Golra Police.

A police official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the detained men were taken into custody by Golra Police and that FIR No. 581 has been registered against them.
