Samsung has revealed a new software design concept called Fluid AI Design System, which could be the future of Galaxy smartphones and One UI.
The concept was recognized at the Red Dot Design Award 2026 as one of Samsung’s AI-powered design ideas. Samsung said Fluid AI Design System is a generative UI concept that uses AI agents to interpret user interactions and contextual signals in real time. It then creates personalized interfaces for the right time and place.
Fluid AI Design System is not a software update that users can download right now.
Instead, it is a design concept that shows where Samsung may take its interface in the future. It suggests a move away from fixed app screens and toward a more adaptive experience powered by AI.
Samsung has not confirmed whether Fluid AI Design System will become part of One UI. It has also not announced whether it will appear in One UI 10 or any other future version.
The core idea behind Fluid AI is to make the interface change based on what the user is doing.
Instead of forcing users to open several apps for different tasks, the system can present information through flexible floating cards. These cards can expand, shrink, rearrange, or change form depending on the situation.
A meeting reminder, for example, could appear with calendar details, available time, route information, and relevant contacts in one view. A simple date picker could also expand into a larger scheduling tool when needed.
The concept fits with Samsung’s wider push into Galaxy AI.
Samsung has already been adding more AI features across its phones, tablets, wearables, and home devices. Fluid AI takes that idea further by imagining an interface where AI is not just inside apps, but becomes part of how the whole system works.
Samsung said its award-winning AI concepts focus on understanding user context and preferences to deliver more intuitive and personalized experiences.
Fluid AI Design System was part of Samsung’s wider showing at the Red Dot Design Award 2026.
Samsung won eight awards in the Design Concept category, including two “Best of the Best” honors for Samsung Home Appliances Accessories and Samsung Kids Robot Dremo & Minimo. The company said the concepts focus on AI-powered designs that understand user needs and support more personalized future experiences.
Other recognized concepts included AI Beauty Mirror, Panorama UX, AI Kitchen, Spatial Tab, and AI Home Companion PUCO.
There is no guarantee that Fluid AI Design System will reach Samsung phones in its current form.
Design concepts often change before becoming real products or software features. Samsung would also need to solve practical issues such as third-party app support, performance on different devices, and interface consistency.
For now, Fluid AI Design System should be seen as a preview of Samsung’s software direction rather than a confirmed One UI feature.
