Net metering has continued its upward momentum in October 2025, with its share in total power generation rising by 112 basis points year-on-year, driven by growing solar adoption and reduced reliance on the national grid.
Month-on-month, net-metered units saw a sharp 43.3 percent increase, which simply shows the rapid expansion of rooftop solar installations across the country.
Despite this growth, overall power generation fell 3.7 percent year-on-year during the month. NEPRA projects that national power demand will still rise by 2.8 percent in FY25, reflecting a gradual recovery in economic activity.

Net metering appreciation is encouraging.
Net metering is a right. Not a luxury
