Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has set a clear deadline for completing beautification projects across all markets and streets in the province.
The projects are scheduled to be completed between February and May 2026, as confirmed during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
Officials presented a briefing on the beautification plans for every district, tehsil, and city of Punjab. In total, 132 projects are planned across 39 districts at an estimated cost of Rs. 16.9 billion. Work orders for 97 projects have already been issued, and 88 projects are set to begin shortly.

The Chief Minister stressed strict action against open manholes, garbage accumulation, damaged green belts, and peeling paint, emphasizing that entire cities, not just individual markets, should appear clean and well-maintained. She warned that Assistant Commissioners will be held accountable for any violations or encroachments.
