The Punjab government has begun taking major steps to promote environmentally friendly transport in Lahore and other urban areas.

According to officials, the provincial government has released Rs1 billion for the establishment of new e-bus stops and electric bus depots, marking a significant push toward cleaner and more sustainable public transport.
Punjab has also finalized plans to launch electric buses in multiple cities.
The provincial cabinet approved the summary submitted by the Transport Secretary, giving the green signal to start electric bus services across all major cities in the near future.
The initiative is expected to reduce pollution, modernize public transport, and provide citizens with an affordable and eco-friendly travel option.
