The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has rolled out major administrative reforms to standardize recruitment across the public sector and strengthen transparency and merit.
Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, the Higher Education Department issued an official notification confirming that all hiring in government and semi-government institutions will now take place through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA).
The notification makes it clear that the government has withdrawn all previous exemptions granted to semi-autonomous bodies, bringing them under a single, uniform recruitment framework.
Authorities said the decision aims to end inconsistencies caused by department-specific hiring practices and close loopholes that previously allowed different standards for different institutions.
Officials stated that routing all recruitment through ETEA will ensure a fair, transparent, and competitive process, giving equal opportunities to candidates across the province. The reforms also seek to reduce allegations of favoritism and improve public confidence in government hiring.
