The Punjab government has granted conditional approval for Basant to be celebrated in Lahore from February 6 to February 8, provided all safety and administrative requirements are strictly followed.

Sources said a high-level meeting was recently held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, where authorities agreed on strict enforcement of laws related to Basant celebrations.

Earlier this month, the Punjab government issued a detailed ordinance allowing Basant to be held under tightly regulated conditions, ending a 25-year ban on the festival.
