The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather advisory for snowfall and adverse conditions from today through December 18, 2025.
According to the advisory, rain and snowfall are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and several parts of Balochistan.
As weather conditions worsen, authorities expect fog intensity to increase, particularly during morning and night hours.
Meanwhile, plains are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall. In contrast, mountainous and upper regions are expected to experience snowfall.
The NDMA warned of heavy snowfall in Kohistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, higher areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, and mountainous regions of Azad Kashmir.
Due to snowfall, traffic flow on mountain roads may be disrupted. In some areas, road closures are also possible.
In Balochistan, light rain is forecast for Quetta, Ziarat, and parts of northwestern districts. Snowfall is expected in nearby hilly areas.
The advisory added that snowfall intensity may decrease between December 16 and 18. However, cold weather conditions are likely to persist.
In upper regions, slippery roads caused by snow may further affect traffic movement.
Additionally, intermittent light snowfall is expected at multiple locations in northern areas.
The NDMA has urged tourists and travelers to avoid unnecessary travel to hilly regions and strictly follow instructions issued by local authorities.
