Michael Vaughan Recalls Being Trapped During Sydney Shooting

Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan has revealed that he was forced to take shelter inside a restaurant during a shooting incident at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

Vaughan said he was at a beachside restaurant with his family when the shooting occurred nearby. He described the experience of being locked inside the restaurant as extremely frightening.

Speaking about the incident, Vaughan said he and his family safely returned home and expressed gratitude to the emergency services and the individual who confronted the attacker.

He explained that a restaurant bouncer approached him while holding a gun and instructed him to move inside for safety.

According to Michael Vaughan, they were only a few hundred steps away from where the attack took place. He said they heard loud sirens, which are usually associated with shark attacks or fights between young people in the area. However, they quickly realized that the situation was far more serious and involved gunfire.

Vaughan described the scene as terrifying and said he tried to remain as calm as possible for the sake of his family. He stated that there were six people with him at the time: his wife, his wife’s sister, his two daughters, and one of their friends.

It is worth noting that the shooting took place during a Jewish gathering at Bondi Beach. As of the latest reports, the death toll has risen to 15. Around 40 people, including two police officers and the attacker, are receiving treatment in the hospital.
