Punjab Govt Departments Get Deadline to Complete Corruption Inquiries

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed all government departments to complete corruption inquiries against their employees within three months. She stressed the need for complete transparency in all departmental projects while chairing a Punjab cabinet meeting on Monday.

The cabinet decided to establish Punjab’s second largest IT city in Rawalpindi and set a target to train 2,300 youth as skilled professionals within one year.

The meeting approved the installation of modern traffic lights and mandatory zebra crossings on all roads to improve pedestrian safety. The cabinet also announced a reward of Rs.100,000 for traffic wardens who strictly enforce traffic rules.

The cabinet approved the establishment of the province’s first independent examination authority to ensure transparency and bring the examination system in line with modern standards. It also approved an increase in the head teacher allowance for government schools from Rs.500 to Rs.10,000.

The cabinet set a target to promote cattle exports through the creation of a livestock company. It approved the filling of vacant posts in the Structure Planning Unit of the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department.
