The Punjab Transport Company has announced the launch of electric bus services in Jhelum under the Chief Minister’s Green Initiative.
According to details shared in an official annoucement, the electric bus service will start operations on December 18, 2025. The initiative aims to promote eco friendly public transport and reduce environmental pollution.
The electric buses will operate on multiple routes in Jhelum, including Fauji Foundation Hospital to Sanghoi, Thalianwala to Fauji Mill Ground, and Dina to Mangla.
Authorities have set a flat fare of Rs. 20 for passengers using the electric bus service.
The project comes under the Punjab government’s efforts to expand sustainable transport options through the Punjab Transport Company. Officials said the service will provide affordable and environment friendly travel facilities to commuters.
The launch forms part of the broader green transport strategy introduced under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to modernize public transport and promote cleaner energy solutions across the province.
