Pakistan’s legendary former cricketer Javed Miandad was hospitalized after experiencing chest discomfort.
He was taken to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Karachi, where doctors immediately carried out medical examinations.
According to hospital sources, Javed Miandad underwent routine cardiac tests, including angiography. After reviewing the reports, doctors confirmed that his condition was stable and there were no serious complications.
He was later allowed to return home the same day.
Before leaving the hospital, Miandad expressed satisfaction with the medical facilities at NICVD. He said he was feeling much better and thanked doctors, medical staff, and fans for their prayers.
He added that by the grace of Allah and with the prayers of the nation, his health would continue to improve.
Miandad is regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest batters and was the backbone of the national team from 1975 to 1996.
Miandad featured in 124 Test and 233 ODIs over the course of his illustrious career. He was also part of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup–winning squad and scored 1,083 runs in 33 World Cup matches at an average exceeding 43.
He also scored 16,213 international runs, including 31 centuries, in 357 matches. In first-class cricket, he amassed 28,663 runs at an average above 53, including 80 centuries, between 1973 and 1994.
He was a dominant performer against top teams, scoring over 1,000 Test runs against Australia, England, India, and New Zealand, and 1,000-plus ODI runs against Australia, India, Sri Lanka, and the West Indies.
