Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Thursday announced that ethics will be introduced as a subject in the provincial school curriculum.
He made the announcement during a visit to a government school in Peshawar, where he stressed the importance of combining education with training. He said training helps develop responsible, principled, and successful individuals.
The chief minister directed authorities to install CCTV cameras in all public schools and provide required facilities on a priority basis. He also instructed officials to ensure the distribution of free textbooks to students at the start of the next academic session.
He said school administrations and teachers must focus on improving the quality of education and assured that the government would address shortcomings in public sector schools.
Last month, the chief minister announced plans to establish two additional universities in the province despite financial constraints. He directed relevant departments to work on proposals for setting up Arshad Sharif University and another university in the Khyber tribal district.
