The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA), in partnership with AkzoNobel Pakistan Ltd., has completed the revitalization and beautification of Lahore’s Fort Road Food Street, a key cultural and tourist site in the historic walled city.
Authorities formally marked the completion of the project at an event held at Fort Road Food Street. The ceremony was attended by WCLA Director General Najmussaqib, AkzoNobel Pakistan Chief Executive Officer Mubbasher Omar, and Stetson Sanders, the United States Consul General in Lahore.
The project focused on restoring and refreshing the historic facades along the food street. Officials said the work preserved the area’s architectural character while improving its visual appearance through carefully selected colors and finishes.
WCLA said the initiative was carried out as a public-private partnership aimed at protecting heritage sites and enhancing their tourism value. AkzoNobel Pakistan said the project was completed under its “Let’s Colour” initiative, which supports cultural preservation through urban restoration.
US Consul General Stetson Sanders said historic sites such as Fort Road Food Street form part of shared global heritage and emphasized the importance of preserving them for future generations. The restored food street is now open to visitors.
