The Lahore Ring Road Authority has announced a 16.67% increase in toll tax rates for Northern and Southern loops and Eastern bypass. The revised toll charges came into effect earlier this week and apply across various vehicle categories.
Under the new rates, the toll for cars and jeeps has risen from Rs. 60 to Rs. 70.
Similarly, the toll for Hiace and wagons has been increased from Rs. 120 to Rs. 140.
Minibuses and coasters will now be charged Rs. 140, up from Rs. 120.
For buses, the toll has gone up from Rs. 300 to Rs. 350.
Heavy vehicles have also seen a hike in charges. The toll for loader trucks, dumpers, and pickups with 2-3 axles has increased from Rs. 360 to Rs. 420.
Trucks and trailers with more than three axles will now pay Rs. 700, up from Rs. 600.
List of Exempted Vehicles:
The following vehicles are exempted from Toll:
(a) Ambulances
(b) Defense vehicles
(c) Flag cars
(d) Fire fighting vehicles
(e) Funeral vans
(f) Official vehicles of the Authority or the Concessionaire
(g) Police vehicles
(h) Vehicles bearing the plates of:
- Presidency
- Prime Minister’s Secretariat
- Governor House
- Chief Minister’s Secretariat
- A Foreign dignitary on State visit to Pakistan
(i) Vehicles deputed for essential services
