Dry weather continues across Punjab, including the provincial capital Lahore, while a rain-bearing weather system is expected to enter Pakistan tonight.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rain is likely in Murree, the Galiyat, and northern areas, with snowfall also expected in some locations.
The department said that during the past 24 hours, most parts of the country experienced cold and dry weather, while severe cold prevailed in northern regions.
Minimum temperatures recorded on Sunday showed Leh as the coldest location, where the mercury dropped to minus 10 degrees Celsius. Astore recorded minus 6 degrees, Gupis minus 5, while Skardu, Hunza, and Kalat recorded minus 4 degrees Celsius. Kalam, Gilgit, Quetta, and Dir recorded minimum temperatures of minus 3 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to take precautionary measures in view of the cold conditions. It has also urged people, particularly in northern areas, to avoid unnecessary travel due to the expected weather conditions.
