The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the technical evaluation for the sale of two new Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises, clearing 10 out of 12 global bidders for the upcoming auction. The auction is scheduled for Thursday, 8 January 2026, at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
The PCB Bid Committee reviewed all proposals submitted by interested parties worldwide over three days. Following a rigorous and transparent assessment, 10 bidders successfully met the technical requirements and now advance to the next stage of the process.
During the PSL auction, the winning bidders will have the right to select their franchise locations from a shortlist of cities, including Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Sialkot.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer congratulated the qualified bidders, highlighting the strong interest from both local and international investors. “We extend our congratulations to all successful bidders and thank everyone who submitted proposals. For those who could not participate this time, we hope to explore other opportunities with them in the future,” he said.
Naseer added that the league is looking forward to another major step in the expansion and evolution of the HBL PSL as preparations continue for the auction. Further details regarding the bidding process and procedures will be shared by the PCB in due course.
