Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced free public parking across the city on January 1, 2026, as part of New Year holiday arrangements.
The exemption will apply to all public parking zones, except multi-storey car parks and Al Khail Gate N-365. Regular parking fees will resume on Friday, January 2.
The RTA also released revised operating hours for public transport and customer services and urged residents and visitors to plan their travel.
All RTA Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed on New Year’s Day, while Smart Customer Happiness Areas at Al Barsha, Al Twar, Al Kifaf, and RTA headquarters will continue operating 24/7.
Service provider centres, including vehicle testing facilities, will also remain closed on January 1 and reopen on January 2.
Regarding public transport, Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines will operate from 5 am to 11:59 pm on December 31, and from midnight to 11:59 pm on January 1.
Dubai Tram services will run from 6 am to 11:59 pm on December 31, and from midnight to 1 am on January 1.
The RTA advised bus passengers to check updated schedules through the S’hail app. Route E100 will be suspended from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station from the afternoon of December 31 and will resume on January 4.
Commuters to Abu Dhabi can use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station, while Route E102 will continue operating from Ibn Battuta on December 31.
Marine transport users have been advised to consult the RTA’s official website for detailed holiday schedules.
The RTA said these measures aim to ensure smooth mobility and uninterrupted essential services during the New Year celebrations across Dubai.
