The Government of Pakistan has announced a big reduction in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) and Motor Spirit (MS) Petrol to kickoff 2026.
The per liter price of HSD has been reduced by Rs. 8.57 to Rs. 257.08, down from the previous rate of Rs. 265.65 per liter. The price of MS, commonly known as petrol, has been cut by Rs. 10.28 to Rs. 253.17 per liter.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the decision was made based on recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The revised prices will be in effect from January 01, 2026.
In the previous fortnight, diesel received a Rs. 6 per liter cut, while petrol remained unchanged.
