Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Freight Train Launch Postponed Over Security Clearance

The launch of the freight train service connecting Islamabad, Tehran, and Istanbul, originally scheduled for December 31, has been postponed due to the lack of necessary security clearance, railway officials confirmed.

According to the Pakistan Railways, the train was planned to depart from Islamabad, travel via Sibi, and reach Speezand Junction, from where it would continue through Nushki and Dalbandin, eventually entering Iran at Mirjawa.

Authorities in Quetta Railway Division had reportedly completed all preparations to facilitate the train’s arrival and onward journey.

However, the Railways Department announced that the service could not commence as planned, citing the failure to receive security approval a day before the scheduled departure. Officials confirmed that the train service will begin once the required clearance is obtained.
