Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has officially acquired 100% shareholding of Telenor Pakistan (Private) Limited and Orion Towers (Private) Limited, marking a major consolidation in the country’s telecom sector.
According to a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), PTCL confirmed that the shares of both companies have been duly transferred in its name, finalizing a transaction that has been disclosed in phases over the past two years.
The company stated that any further developments regarding the acquisition will be communicated to the exchange in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
The acquisition is expected to reshape the competitive landscape of Pakistan’s telecommunications industry, bringing together PTCL’s extensive infrastructure and Telenor Pakistan’s significant market presence.
The transaction also includes Orion Towers, a key player in telecom tower infrastructure.
