The Punjab government has announced plans to operate 15 electric buses from Gujar Khan to T-Chowk starting next month to improve connectivity with Islamabad.
Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Asad Shirazi said the route from Gujar Khan to T-Chowk has been officially approved. The service will link Gujar Khan with Rawalpindi and Islamabad through the electric bus system.
According to the approved route, the buses will start from Gujar Khan Adda and travel to T-Chowk via the Mandra stop. The service will operate along the G.T. Road and return to Gujar Khan from T-Chowk.
He also shared updates on electric bus services in Rawalpindi city. The number of electric buses will increase from 45 to 80 within the next few months. This expansion will take place after the remodelling of Kutchery Chowk, following which six additional routes will become operational.
Shirazi added that the construction of an electric bus depot on Peshawar Road will be completed soon. After its completion, more buses will be added to the system.
In total, 10 routes have been allocated for electric buses, with the remaining six routes to open after road development work is completed at Kutchery Chowk and other areas.

A station of bus is in front of my house in Gujarkhan. A good initiative but government has to increase fare so only people with necessary tasks can travel. Due to low fares, ignorant people are taking unnecessary rides. And buses has became unsafe for women also.
