The Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority has approved the establishment of new special Sahulat Bazaars at divisional and district levels across all 43 districts of the province.
This includes the development of six Sahulat Bazaars in the Rawalpindi Division. The total cost of the project is Rs. 579.73 million.
Construction and decoration work will begin in January, the first month of the New Year, and all bazaars are expected to be completed within three months. The completion is scheduled for March 31.
The authority has invited tenders from contractors by December 31, while contracts will be awarded in the first week of January.
Each Sahulat Bazaar will include separate sections for groceries, vegetables, fruits, meat, and chicken. A control room will also be set up, and dedicated security staff will be deployed.
Official working hours will be from 8:00 am until sunset.
Essential food items and commodities will be available at subsidized rates, ranging from 10 to 20 percent lower than open market prices.
