Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the provincial government has linked the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Orange Line with the BRT Green Line to improve travel convenience for commuters from Orangi Town to Numaish.
The Orange Line operates between Orangi Town and North Nazimabad, while the Green Line runs from Surjani Town to Numaish via North Nazimabad. The new connection allows passengers to travel across both routes on a single ticket.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony at the Orange Line depot, Memon said commuters previously had to pay separate fares when transferring to the Green Line. He said the integrated ticketing system will now enable seamless travel and is expected to benefit about 100,000 passengers daily.
While talking to the media, Memon said passengers can now use both the Orange Line and the Green Line at the same fare. He said daily ridership on the Green Line stood at around 55,000 during the previous federal government’s tenure but has increased to nearly 80,000. He added that thousands of citizens use the service every day and that fares remain low.
Memon said the buses offer security cameras and other facilities. He also said authorities will operate separate buses for women on both the Green Line and the Orange Line.
