KP Fixes Deadline for Printing Pending Driving Licenses

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has directed authorities to clear the backlog of more than 117,000 pending driving licence cards across the province within one month.

According to an official statement, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department has issued a detailed division-wise and district-based schedule for the printing and delivery of the pending licence cards. The chief minister instructed the concerned departments to strictly follow the announced timeline and ensure timely delivery.

Under the schedule, the printing and distribution of pending driving licences in Hazara Division will be completed in the first week of January 2026. In Malakand Division, including Swat, Dir and Buner districts, the process is set to conclude by mid-January 2026.

The department plans to complete the task in Peshawar Division between January 23 and January 26, 2026, while Kohat Division is expected to finish by January 29. The clearance of pending licence cards in Bannu Division, as well as in Mardan and Dera Ismail Khan divisions, is scheduled to be completed by January 30, 2026.
