The Prime Minister has assigned the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) a key national responsibility to lead the country’s digitalization process.
Acting on the Prime Minister’s directives, the authority has accelerated work on the Digital Pakistan agenda, placing digital transformation at the center of national development planning.
Officials of the Pakistan Digital Authority said the process of finalizing a National Digital Master Plan has been initiated. Consultations are underway with all four provinces and relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with regional needs, sectoral priorities, and existing digital initiatives.
According to officials, the National Digital Master Plan will be submitted to the National Digital Commission for approval. The plan is being developed as a comprehensive framework to guide Pakistan’s digital transformation in a coordinated and sustainable manner across both the public and private sectors.
Authorities said the National Digital Master Plan will be built on three core pillars. The first pillar is the digital economy, which aims to promote online businesses, investment, innovation, and private sector growth to strengthen economic activity through digital means.
The second pillar will focus on developing a digital society by improving public access to digital services, enhancing digital literacy, and expanding supporting facilities. The third pillar, digital governance, is aimed at improving state systems, transparency, and public service delivery through the use of digital technologies.
