The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has officially launched the final version of its MBBS Modular Integrated Curriculum 2K23 and the revised BDS Integrated Curriculum 2K25.
UHS will implement the new curricula in all public and private medical and dental colleges across Punjab.
The UHS Syndicate and the Boards of Studies for Medicine and Dentistry approved the curricula in a joint meeting. UHS Registrar Kiran Fatima presented the formal resolution, which was signed by the relevant board conveners, the syndicate chairman, and the provincial minister.
Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique attended the launch ceremony at UHS Lahore as the chief guest. Senior academicians, principals of medical and dental colleges, and members of statutory bodies were also present. The minister formally launched both curricula by making them live on the UHS website.
UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Ahsan Waheed Rathore said the Punjab government fully supported the curriculum reforms. He stated that the new clerkship-based model would improve the quality of medical education and training.
UHS Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Nadia Naseem said the MBBS Curriculum 2K23 was developed over three years with input from nearly 700 faculty members.
UHS officials said the revised curricula align with national regulatory requirements and international standards and focus on integrated learning, clinical exposure, professionalism, and practical skills.
