A man has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of secretly recording indecent videos of women inside a washroom at Rawalpindi’s Cantonment General Hospital, according to the Cantt Police.
A spokesperson for Rawalpindi Police said the suspect was taken into custody after Cantonment Police Station registered a harassment case based on a written complaint from the hospital’s security supervisor, Nauman. The complaint revealed that women were being filmed inside the hospital washroom without their consent.
The first information report (FIR) states that security personnel rushed to the washroom after hearing a woman’s screams. They allegedly found the man inside and apprehended him on the spot. The FIR further notes that when the suspect’s mobile phone was checked, obscene videos were discovered, prompting staff to immediately call the police.
Station House Officer (SHO) Cantt Police Noor‑ul‑Ain said the suspect will be charged only after investigators complete their work and gather “solid evidence,” adding that a detailed probe is currently underway.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Talha Wali condemned the incident, stressing that harassment or violence against women and children would not be tolerated and that anyone involved in such offences would face strict legal consequences.
Rawalpindi Police reiterated that they remain committed to safeguarding vulnerable groups and ensuring that those accused of such crimes are dealt with swiftly and in accordance with the law.
