A young man, identified as Arif, caught a 65-kilogram fish from the River Ravi near the Kartarpur area of Narowal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
After catching the giant fish, Arif brought it to the local fish market, where a trader offered him Rs90,000. However, he refused the offer, saying he would sell the fish for Rs100,000.
Arif said the fish was a royal breed, adding that it had thorns, which made it valuable.
It is worth noting that in October 2025, another resident of Narowal caught a 92-kilogram giant fish from the River Ravi. That fish was caught from floodwater in the village of Chandyali.
The fisherman had expressed happiness at the time, saying it was the first giant fish he had ever caught in his life.
