Punjab Rolls Out Province-Wide Performance Monitoring System

The Punjab government has introduced a new performance monitoring system across the province to improve service delivery, strengthen accountability, and ensure the timely resolution of public complaints.

Under the new system, inspection teams working under the Punjab Chief Minister will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the province. These KPIs have been developed for 22 different sectors, designed to closely track issues that directly affect the public.

Officials said the monitoring will focus on essential areas, including the availability and quality of bread and other commodities, road conditions, and the standard of services provided in hospitals and schools.

Performance evaluations will be conducted through on-ground monitoring teams deployed in every district. Moreover, inputs from the Special Branch, along with reports from mainstream media and social media platforms, will be included in the assessment process.

The entire province will also be monitored through live camera feeds from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority to ensure real-time oversight, officials said.

According to officials, the system’s primary objective is to introduce immediate reforms and strengthen accountability across government departments. They added that the initiative is expected to speed-up the resolution of public complaints and improve overall governance standards across Punjab.
