Punjab Introduces New Rules for Teacher Transfers

The Punjab School Education Department has issued new instructions regarding teacher transfers, stating that transfers will not be allowed until the completion of the academic session.

According to the department, strict implementation of the E-Transfer Policy 2024 has been ordered. Under the policy, only those teachers will be eligible for transfer who have completed at least three years at their current posting.

The department has further stated that teachers must complete all academic and administrative responsibilities before applying for a transfer. These include the preparation of examination results and the conduct of parent-teacher meetings.

In addition, teachers seeking transfers are required to obtain a formal certificate from their head teacher confirming the completion of these duties. Without this certificate, no transfer will be approved, and teachers will not be relieved from their current posts.

The School Education Department has warned that any violation of the policy will hold the District Education Officer (DEO) responsible.

All Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been directed to ensure full and effective implementation of the E-Transfer Policy and to treat any violations seriously.
