PECTAA Sets Rules for Grade 8 Examination Centers

The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) has instructed all District Education Authorities to confirm clusters, examination centers, and school mappings for the Grade 8 examinations scheduled for 2026.

In an official notification issued on January 7, 2026, PECTAA directed chief executive officers of district education authorities to complete the mapping and attachment of schools with their designated examination centers at the district level.

PECTAA developed an online system to facilitate the process and asked district authorities to use the portal for finalizing examination arrangements. The authority said it will share login credentials with concerned officials through email and WhatsApp.

The notification set specific guidelines for examination planning. District authorities must designate separate examination centers for male and female students. They must ensure that the distance between a school and its assigned examination center does not exceed eight kilometers.

Each examination center must accommodate at least 60 students and no more than 300 students. PECTAA also directed that students enrolled in a school declared as an examination center must sit for the exam at a different venue.
