The Lahore High Court has decided to make biometric verification mandatory for all parties, witnesses, and sureties involved in cases filed before the high court and the district judiciary across Punjab.
According to an official statement, the court will link the verification process with NADRA’s database to ensure accurate and reliable identification. Citizens will also be able to complete biometric verification at NADRA e-Sahulat centers.
LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum said the move aims to curb fake litigation, prevent impersonation, and stop the use of fraudulent witnesses and sureties in court proceedings.
The court will implement the biometric verification system at the principal seat of the Lahore High Court and its benches in Multan, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi. The system will also apply to all district courts across Punjab.
