Murree Launches ‘Mission Safe Winter’ Ahead of Snowfall

Authorities have launched “Mission Safe Winter” ahead of expected snowfall in Murree this week to ensure the safety of tourists and residents.

The district administration and police have implemented a comprehensive digital and on-ground security plan and urged visitors to avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall.

Authorities have placed the entire police force on high alert from January 17 to 21, with additional personnel deployed due to the possibility of heavy snow.

Senior officers will remain in the field, while officials have activated real-time monitoring of sensitive roads through Safe City cameras.

Police said travel to Murree will remain under a modern monitoring and rapid response system.

Authorities have increased patrolling on steep roads and landslide-prone areas. They also advised tourists to keep one window slightly open if vehicles become stranded to prevent oxygen shortage and to contact 15 immediately in case of an emergency.
