The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 54 properties for failing to pay commercial fees.
According to officials, the LDA Town Planning Wing conducted enforcement operations in several areas of the city, sealing private schools, clinics, salons, restaurants, food points, grocery stores, shops, and offices.
The action was taken against illegally commercialized buildings and properties that had not paid the required commercial charges. The operations were carried out in New Muslim Town, Canal Road, Gulberg, Model Town Extension, and Azam Garden.
In total, 25 properties were sealed on Canal Road, 19 in Gulberg and Model Town Extension, and 10 in Azam Garden. These properties included private schools, clinics, restaurants, grocery stores, and food points.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner Asaduz Zaman, with teams from the LDA Enforcement Wing and police present on-site.
In addition, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq visited Salman Park in Nishtar Town and Atta Baksh Road to review development work.
Authorities are upgrading roads, streets, and parks in Nishtar Town, where new tiles have been installed. Orders were also issued to improve stormwater drainage at Salman Park and enhance the design of Atta Baksh Road.
The DG stated that efforts were underway to improve the city’s infrastructure and that Salman Park would be developed into a model park.
He added that work was also being carried out on other public properties and roads, with an emphasis on maintaining quality standards.
