Interior Minister Promises Salary Increase for Police

Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday visited the National Police Academy (NPA) in Islamabad to review the ongoing renovation work at the facility, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

During the visit, the minister issued necessary instructions to NPA Commandant Muhammad Idrees and inspected various sections of the academy, including the conference hall, dining hall, and other key areas.

Addressing the Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) undergoing training, Naqvi announced that officers would be allotted residential plots upon successful completion of their training.

He also revealed plans to send the current batch to Beijing, China, for a one-month professional training program aimed at enhancing their skills and expertise.

The interior minister emphasized that the government was taking special measures to resolve financial issues faced by police personnel. “I want an increase in the salary of every police official so that they can take home respectable pay,” he stated.

He further assured that modern facilities would be provided to officers in collaboration with the National Police Foundation, and pledged to address long-standing concerns related to promotions within the police force.

Earlier, the NPA commandant briefed the minister on administrative and training matters. The deputy commandant of the academy, the additional deputy commissioner of Islamabad, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
