Pakistan Football Star’s Move to International Club Collapses Over Salary Dispute

A potential overseas move for Pakistani football star Alamgir Ghazi has fallen apart after contract talks reportedly broke down over a major salary-related disagreement.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that negotiations collapsed when football agents in Bangladesh demanded 40 percent of his salary as commission. The demand was deemed unreasonable by the Pakistan football star and his representatives, ultimately leading to the deal being called off.

The dynamic midfielder had been linked with two prominent clubs in Bangladesh: PWD Sports Club and Bangladesh Police Football Club.

PWD SC, based in Dhaka’s Segunbagicha area, currently competes in the Bangladesh Football League after earning promotion from the Championship League last season.

While Bangladesh Police FC, founded by the Bangladesh Police, is also a well-established name in the country’s football circuit, having secured promotion to the top tier by winning the 2018–19 Championship League.

Both clubs were reportedly eager to sign Alamgir, who has emerged as one of Pakistan football’s most promising talents in recent years. Known for his high energy, sharp game awareness, and ability to control the pace of matches, he has consistently delivered strong performances in domestic competitions. His creativity in midfield and knack for setting up goal-scoring chances have made him a standout figure.

Last year, Alamgir took his first major step abroad by joining Thimphu City FC, one of the leading teams in Bhutan’s Premier League.
