Sindh Yet to Issue Model Papers Ahead of 2026 Matric Exams

With the 2026 matriculation examinations approaching, students across Sindh continue to face uncertainty as authorities have not yet issued model question papers under the newly introduced Uniform Examination Syllabus (UES).

The Sindh School Education Department has revised the matric examination system and adopted a Student Learning Outcomes based assessment framework. However, officials have so far failed to release model papers that explain the exam format, paper structure, and marking scheme.

This delay has left Class IX and X students unclear about how their exams will be conducted, while teachers remain unable to provide focused guidance. Examination boards have also expressed concern over the lack of clarity ahead of the annual tests.

The Sindh Secondary Education Improvement Project, a subsidiary of the education department, is responsible for preparing and releasing the matric model papers. According to SSEIP official Atta Hussain Lakho, the delay occurred because authorities are simultaneously working on intermediate-level examination papers under the same syllabus.

Another subsidiary body, the Directorate of Curriculum, Assessment and Research, is handling that task, as several intermediate subjects are also shifting to an SLO-based assessment system.

Lakho said officials have scheduled a key meeting for Friday, after which they plan to upload the matric model papers online. The matriculation examinations are expected to begin in March 2026, leaving students with limited time to prepare once the model papers are released.
