Sindh Launches New System for Teacher Transfers

The Sindh Education Department on Wednesday launched an online transfer system for teachers and employees, moving the province’s school administration to a digital platform.

Provincial Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said the e-transfer system became fully operational on January 15. He said the system replaces the paper-based transfer process with a digital workflow to ensure transparency and merit.

The minister said the provincial cabinet approved the initiative as part of efforts to modernize the education department. Under the new system, teachers can apply for transfers online and monitor the status of their applications from home.

The first phase covers 133,547 teachers currently working across Sindh, including 105,258 primary schoolteachers and 28,289 junior elementary schoolteachers. The department plans to extend the system to all education department employees in later phases.

Speaking to Dawn, the minister said the department designed the phased rollout to deliver effective results while allowing technical adjustments to the platform. He added that the digital system will reduce processing time, lower administrative costs, and remove procedural delays.
