A notification circulating on social media regarding a change in Punjab’s education ministry has been declared fake by the provincial education minister.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat rejected the notification, which claimed that he had been removed from his post and replaced by another minister. In an official statement, he said the document circulating online was fabricated and had no legal or administrative standing.
“The notification circulating on social media about my removal from the education ministry is fake,” the minister said. He added that he continues to perform his duties as Punjab’s education minister with the confidence of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Rana Sikandar Hayat warned that legal action would be taken against individuals involved in spreading false information. He said such misinformation was being deliberately circulated to mislead the public and create confusion.
The disputed notification, dated January 17, 2026, appeared to originate from the Chief Minister’s Office and claimed a ministerial change under the Rules of Business. However, government sources said no official notification regarding any change in the education ministry had been issued.

This edu minister is more like a thug with zero creativity. Just once watch his interview and you will be baffled how someone can even think of appointing such low level person on this important job.
