The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested two suspects linked to a gang involved in visa fraud and migrant smuggling.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the Anti Human Trafficking Circle carried out the operation after receiving a tip-off from the US Embassy. During the raid, officials arrested Tahir Shehbaz and Rab Nawaz.
The spokesperson said authorities detained the suspects in Islamabad. Investigators found that the group attempted to send 12 citizens to the US using forged documents.
The FIA said efforts are underway to arrest two more accomplices linked to the gang. Officials added that raids are continuing as part of the ongoing investigation.
