Punjab’s Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat has warned that private educational institutions cannot compel parents to purchase textbooks, uniforms, or other school-related items from any particular shop or vendor, saying strict legal action will be taken against violators.
The warning comes in line with an official public notice issued by the Government of Punjab’s School Education Department, dated January 22, 2026.
The notice cites Section 7A(10) of the Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion & Regulation) Ordinance, 1984, which bars private schools from forcing parents or guardians to buy school items from a designated outlet or service provider.
According to the notice, any private school found pressuring or directing parents to purchase books, uniforms, or related materials from specific sellers will be considered to be committing a serious legal violation and may face penalties and other action under the law and relevant rules.
The education minister urged parents to report such practices so enforcement can be ensured. He said complaints can be submitted through the Punjab government’s Citizen Relationship Management (CRM) portal, and citizens are encouraged to formally lodge reports against unlawful demands by schools.
In the notice, the department also directs parents and the public to report violations to the relevant District Registration Authority (DRA) in the office of the Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority, or file complaints online via the CRM portal.

Sir Rana Sikandar Hayat kindly took action against the low salary of teachers in private Schools.
This cannot be avoided. School says you need to buy uniform, shoes, belt, cap, coat and bags with school logo then there are specific vendor who is making and supplying this. I am specifically talking about The Punjab School. I tried to buy from the open market but unable to find any. So as a result we have to buy from their given vendor on almost double price.
Good!
Private schools take separate stationery charges, which are a big burden on parents. We already pay annual fees, but schools still give a long list of stationery items. Children use only half of these things. Every year, my two children are asked to bring bundles of A4 paper, which cost a lot. Other items like colors, glue, charts, crayons, and paints are also expensive. This puts extra financial pressure on parents.
AA, in my opinion there should be just one uniform (hence the meaning of the word!) for both private AND public schools. They can have different badges to distinguish schools, but all over pakistan the uniform should be just that………. uniform!!!
Changing schools should not break the bank.
APPRECIATED..Finally someone actullay take action not only just talking about this very serious issue
Yet another fking joke by publishing this. Lanat ho Bhai tumpey .. 90% of the schools are directly or indirectly associated with the elite families may it be the political, business ya phir all time favorite Daku and lutera Fuji group.
So shove up the blog up the person who shared an asked you to write this. Perhaps it’s time to see withing you the reality of being a jerk and choosing to do what is right.
To govt school main kiyon nhi parhaty bachy ko
Durr hain or quality of education low hai
Beacon House School System in Pakistan 2025 is Standard then Other’s Fee’s Annual for KG Class Pay Rs:50,000/-
But schools like city school can cause they only provide Thier textbook or study pack to only selected shops so it don’t be a warning for big school networks like them
Allied school top of the list hai ….hmain pressurized kiya gya k sports uniform bnwain hm n new session pr bnwany ka kaha but ALLIED school ki principal n apni mrzi s SPORTS day uniform bnwa k hmain call ki k ap k bachy ka uniform ready hai ap payment krain or ly jain ……
Allied school ki notebook itni bad quality ki hai or itna thin size hai but they insist us to purchased only monogramic copies
…..
Rawalpindi me to approximately hr school me monogram wali note book use krwaee jati or wo school shop k ilawa bazar se kahi b ni milty jis se parents ko 90 wali note book 200 me khreedny k liye majboor kia jata. or school uniform mafia b bht tezi se private school k sath mil k awam ko loot raha. or books mafia to private school k sath to bht pehly se mila hua.
Fine, The Trust School forces students to buy Denzy uniforms only, while Sartaj also produces uniforms at affordable prices and good quality. However, they always punish students and force them to buy from one dealer, calling it the school’s bookshop. Also, they demand stationery from students, which is never provided when required by them. The cost of stationery is high which burdens most parents and if the parents don’t give they force it and sometimes make the student embarrass and ashamed of which ruins most of the students.
this such stuff is not necessary as if private institutions started giving out supplies themselves they’re going to cost it 3x more… this is not financially affordable.. plus students dont even need half of the stuff a school requires ,…
Great decision has been taken by the government of Punjab we all parents are thankful to the Government of Punjab.
Best wishes for Government of Punjab
