The Meteorological Department has predicted snowfall and strong winds in Murree and the Galiyat region from Monday evening through Tuesday night. Authorities have issued alerts as this marks the fourth significant snowfall in the area this season.
District Police Officer Murree, Muhammad Raza Tanveer, has instructed local police and emergency teams to remain on high alert. Residents and tourists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and ensure vehicles are equipped with tire chains, warm clothing, blankets, and essential supplies.
Rescue 1122 teams and Murree Traffic Police have been deployed at key locations. DPO Tanveer warned that heavy snowfall could reduce visibility, advising drivers to use fog lights and carry extra fuel, tires, and emergency kits.
Snowfall has also begun in Quetta, Qalat, Mastung, Kan Mehtarzai, Muslim Bagh, Chaman, and surrounding districts, and the Meteorological Department expects the spell to continue over the next two days. Authorities are closely monitoring conditions to ensure public safety.
