Pakistan’s squash star Asim Khan has qualified for the Squash on Fire Open 2026 in Washington, United States, after winning the Wildcard Challenger event.
The Wildcard Challenger was a PSA Challenger Tour 3 event held in Washington, D.C. from January 22 to 25, 2026, and served as a qualifier for the main tournament.
Khan secured qualification by defeating Yee Xian Siow of Malaysia in the final, winning the match 3–2 with game scores of 11-2, 6-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-6.
On his way to the title, he also defeated Khaled Labib of Egypt in the semifinals and Dmytro Shcherbakov of Ukraine in the quarterfinals.
The Squash on Fire Open 2026 will take place from January 28 to February 1, 2026 and will feature players from across the international squash circuit.
Asim Khan, whose full name is Muhammad Asim Khan, is a right-handed player from Lahore, Pakistan. His career-high PSA world ranking is No. 53, achieved in October 2022, and he is currently ranked within the top 100.
In September 2024, Khan won his first PSA World Tour title at the Charlottesville Open, becoming the first Pakistani in nearly 20 years to secure an event title.
His latest qualification underlines his strong form and adds another notable achievement for Pakistan on the international squash circuit.
