Pakistani Students Develop Device That Converts Fog Into Electricity

Students from the Girls Section of TABS College of Science, Hyderabad, won the ninth cycle of Enterprise Challenge Pakistan for their project Nebulavolt, a fog to electricity safety device developed for fog prone regions.

The project uses a hydrophilic mesh to capture fog and converts the energy from water droplets into clean electricity through triboelectric nanogenerators.

The low cost technology can be used to power streetlights, traffic signals and roadside infrastructure, improving visibility, reducing road accidents and cutting energy costs.

The national final of the competition was held in Karachi on January 24 and was hosted by British Deputy High Commissioner Lance Domm in collaboration with King’s Trust International and SEED Ventures.

    • What exactly have you done for your nation ? Please don’t try to discourage young innovators just because you dislike the Government or Army.

    • Impractical, every human has charge, even potatoes have charge, can they turn on a bulb? No.

  • ایسے بچے قوم کا سرمایہ ھیں اللہ پاک ان کی حفاظت فرمائے اور قوم کو ان کی ایجادات سے فائدہ اُٹھانے کی توفیق دے۔آمین

  • Such shining students must be acknowledged and patronized by the Government; they are they make the future of Pakistan

  • If the experiment is successful then it must be used with out delay. Private sector and government must support these students to encourage their achievement. Well done guys, congratulations.

  • An interesting concept.
First of all, they should get it registered to their names to get it commercial benefits.
Second work on how can it be commercially viable.
    Best of luck
